The Hamwic SCITT looks for the highest quality candidates, so you’ll need to meet the following requirements before you can be accepted for our training programme.
If you have non-UK qualifications, you will need a Statement of Comparability from NARIC; the national agency for providing information and advice on worldwide qualifications. This can take some time, so we would advise you to start the process before you submit your application.
You will also need to have a DBS undertaken and be cleared to work with children.

You will need to write a personal statement. This is your opportunity to sell yourself, explaining why you will make a fantastic teacher and that you have the attributes, educational philosophy and experience we are looking for.
Be enthusiastic: tell us why you want to be a teacher and why you have chosen the subject or phase that you are applying for.
We recommend you ask someone to read your personal statement to give you feedback and check grammatical, spelling and typing errors prior to submitting it.
After your application have been submitted, these will be assessed and where the criteria has been met an Interview will be offered.
This will take place at a one of Partnership Schools and will be with a panel made of different partners.
You will be asked to work with a small group of children, give a presentation about a part of education that particularly interests you and there will be a formal question and answer session. You will also be asked to complete a skills analysis or undertake a written assessment.Make enquiry
